This is my 14th year teaching at Farmington Woods and my seventh year in 5th grade. I grew up in Hudsonville, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University. I completed my Masters of Arts in Education through MSU with a concentration on Special Education and became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2011.
My dog, Olive, and I live in Raleigh and we love to explore all of the sights and smells of our city. I usually have a book and a craft project in progress. As a true Spartan, I love cheering on my MSU teams! Go Green! I love visiting my family in Michigan, spending time with friends, and playing with my niece and nephew, Evelyn and Silas.
I try to make all of our learning active and meaningful. I am a lifelong learner and I hope to pass that passion along to all of my students! I'm excited to get to know this year's class!
